Biography

March 29, 2009

During the height of the digital era, amidst the mobile beeps and computer squeaks, four office workers shook off the shackles of mice and keyboards and ventured off into the night bringing warm sounds and distorted rock to the masses. This is the story of Project Analogue.

Project Analogue was formed in 2005, but the band’s gestation period goes back even further — Joey Tan (lead vocals, guitar) and Tuan Le (lead guitar) have been friends since the sixth grade.

One day, Joey decided to move his drum set from his parent’s house to his house. Patrick Dailey (drums) came over and the two friends wrote project analogue’s first song, Blind Skeleton. Rolando Simeon (bass) and Tuan started showing up at the house, eager to play and relinquish the monotony of their days spent sitting behind cubicle walls.

The friends’ rock star counterparts began playing gigs around San Diego, which included outstanding shows at Brick by Brick, Dream Street Live, 710 Beach Club and O’Connells.

Through contacts and friends in San Diego, Ca., Project Analogue obtained some recording time and was able to keep their original melodic-rock-driven-by-heavy-guitar sound while enhancing their sound quality. The result was a killer 13-track album.

Standout singles include White [untitled], a guitar-driven song featuring melodic arpeggios followed by a riff based chorus, and Guns for Hire, a catchy, loud rock song with pops of vocal harmonies that bring color to a wonderfully calculated guitar riff — so wonderful that you’d have no idea that these guys worked in an office. This driving riff sounds like a race to 5 pm — a race to get away from the computer monitors and in front of a massive, wild audience.
